She is owned by the breeder. Until her pups are weaned if I owned her now I would not have bred her again her life is too important to me I too find it selfish of the breeder to have bred her again especially back to back but it wasn't up to me. Trust me these dogs mean more to me than anything

I'm confused! Why didn't the breeder keep the dog until delivery and the pups were old enough to be separated?? All this should not be your problem??
Anyway hope all goes well for the poor girl.

OP Please clarify your situation, I think there is some miscommunication here, I just don't understand.

:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: I too am lost....what exactly is the situation here? Sounds like momma is not your pup?? So this is the breeders problem?? Have you put a deposit on this pup? I'm at a complete loss....

It sounds like she is Co-Owned, and after such time then the OP will own her outright.

No as I understand she has produced show dogs I do not own her at all I have only had her since November I am simply taking care of her while she is pregnant and until she weans pups she only goes to the breeder the week before she is due the breeder pays any and all vet costs after I have her spayed I will own her for free . I did not co own or breed her at all the only males I have is a tiny whom is neutered a possible show dog when he is older he is almost 6 months but very dark so I don't know yet I'm new to the yorkie world these pups are non relation to pregnant one. I'm trying to gather as much knowledge I can to care for her the best way I can

Is this common in the breeding world to breed a dog and send her off to whelp??? I'm baffled. All I can say is read through all the links that interest you and you should find helpful information on any topic your looking for. There is a search at the top of the page where you can specify terms you are looking for. Good Luck, I don't know why your doing what your doing but it seems awfully wrong to me...but I'm not a breeder or shower.

Not in Canada or the USA ... to my knowledge. In an emergency situation a breeder might have to place their pregnant female, but would do their utmost to place her with an experienced breeder. Breeders will informallly or formally create little groups, where we share info and can help each other out. For eg; when one of my friends bitches had a problem whelping, we came. ONe helped the breeder bring the female to the vet, while I stayed in house keeping pups warm, and was bottle feeding until their return. This trust is not built overnight. And usually ideally (imo) starts with the mentor/student relationship. It is a part of how the student "learns". And a very important practical part.

And BTW there are some schools of thought that say; breeding back to back at least once is ideal. I am still of old school of thought though. Have not seen enough research to validate above.

As far as I know in order to show, pups must be unaltered...please correct me If I am wrong on this one...:confused:

Wow, this is a new one to me, I have assisted in whelps with other breeders but never heard of placing a pregnant bitch just to whelp...

Well the idea is to better the breed, if you champion a dog then you know is a perfect specimen for breeding..

Gosh Carmen, any show breeder would love a "perfect" dog, it is what we strive for, but perhaps never acheive. They should how-ever be excellent examples of the breed!

All dogs have faults, some minor some major. And there is the "look", which in an observer sic breeders mind, might not match the "ideal" they want for the breed. Try to update and or change a standard. Oh boy, it is very hard to do. We could spend days on arguing about ear set to name just a "minor" variant. Never mind ear size.

in my eyes all dogs are almost perfect dogs, but the closest to perfection make it to the show rink.. so yes the perfect dog...LOL ear set and size, is like beauty in the eye of the beholder.. usually the Judge...LOL
