| Questions to ask potential buyers Just wandering what all you breeders have have on your list of questions to ask when someone interested in a puppy calls.

| What is it about the breed that interests you. Do you have any small children. Do you have a fenced yard. DO you have any other dogs. Are you planning on keeping the dog inside or outside. Have you done much reading on the breed, and what have you learned. Do you know about their possible health issues. I know there's a lot more, but I can't think of them at this minute.

| I'm not a breeder, but when I was doing the research/making the calls to find my puppies, I had a feeling right away about who the good breeders were and who the not-so-good breeders were...some asked questions and some didn't. From my point of view, here's what I remember some of the good questions were-(I should share the bad ones in another thread-it's comical!) -Why do you want a yorkie? -Have you owned a dog, specifically a toy breed before? -Tell me a little about what exactly you're looking for in a yorkie... -Do you have other pets? If so, what kind? -Do you have children? If so, what ages, and what will their interaction be with the yorkie? -Are you home during the day, or do you work? If work, what hours? Where will the dog stay while you are out? -Where will the dog stay while you are out of town? -Will you consider coming to visit the dog and meeting with me to make sure this is a good fit for you, prior to taking her home? (Even though you live 2 hours away!) -Do you have a full-time job, and feel you can financially support a yorkie? They are higher maintenance than many other breeds. Hope this helps-from the novice buyer's point of view!
