| weaning baby I have a 3 week old male yorkie that my own yorkie, Kriket, gave birth tooooo!!!! He is a cutie! This was my first time to breed her and her first litter. I do not know what to do as far as weaning goes. Do I seperate them all day/night, or gradually do it??? What do I need to feed him? How often? I need some advice! Thank you! |

| Hi and congrats...dont start weaning until 4-5 weeks depending on your babies weight. Mom will instictively help you she will want to be less and less with her baby. Dont seperate them she will seperate herself. what I suggest start introducing a quality dry baby puppy food mixed with either goats milk or water, warm in the micro a bit, let soften then mash it. Since there is only one serve a little plate 3-4 times a day starting at 4 weeks after 5-6 weeks I add less and less goats milk, also keeping a small bowl of dry available 24/7 by 6-7 weeks they are on total dry its better for their little milk teeth coming in... Hope this helps
