Champion Yorkie to a NON Champion Yorkie? Is it okay to breed a non champion yorkie to a champion (bloodline) yorkie? Or would it be looked at as if it was a wrong thing to do, even if you think both dogs would compliment each other? |

no doubt there will be show breeders on here that will say no. But, if they compliment each other and IF they have BOTH had all the required testing and IF you have researched breeding before you even start, I don't see anything wrong with it. |

I agree with Dee if they compliment each other I don't see anything wrong with it. After all that is the point to improve. I have one girl not that has 2-CH in the lines.. Ch Ru-Be's Special Feature and CH Judabob's Golden Sunshine but 5-6 gens back. She is bred to a friend of mine's male that has the CH Windwood, CH Rothby, CH Northshires, CH Altratam, CH Stardust lines. I hope to get something really nice out of her. I plan to keep 1-2 pups out of her and I am trading a pup with another breeder friend of mine who had some Bluemist lines. |

breeding It is done all the time..infact there are far more champion males then females to start with...I would not breed a champion of any sex to one without a quality pedigree. |

stud Many breeders with champion stud will not breed to a bitch with no pedigree (Pet pedigree) but if you have already discussed it with the breeder and they agree, by all means..go for it..the idea is to improve. |

pedigree When a breeder uses the term.."No pedigree"..it does not mean the dog does not actually have a pedigree..it means they have a "Pet Pedigree", a pet ped is one with no champions in the first 3 generation..past 3 gens really don't do much..and for future knowledge... A champion pedigree can be turned into a pet pedigree in one or two short generations.....and you can not turn pet pedigree into a champion pedigree by breeding to one champion...I applaud you for wanting to improve. |
