My furkids Donating Member | I have a question I am not a breeder nor do I plan on breeding. I thought I would get a better response from the breeder section than off topic. I planned on having Lillie spayed at the end of this month. She has just turned 14 months old and just came in heat for the first time. My question.....When a female comes in heat could her stools change. Lillie is on Canidae and has always had a firm stool...I have noticed for the past few days it isn't as firm. She doesn't have diahreah but it is a soft stool. Could her being in heat cause this? I can't remember is this happened with Sadie. Thank you! Brenda

My furkids Donating Member | Thank you! I wasn't sure if it may have been the chicken I was giving her for treats (she's doing puppy training). I have given them both boiled chicken breast meat before and this has never happened. I would think maybe her heat is causing this...I am CONSTANTLY washing her little hiney!! poor little girl doesn't know what's going on!

| The answer is yes. I can usually tell when their time is close by the stool change.

| Brenda, I agree. Both of my females have softer stools right before and during their heats. I also notice a little attitude change. They seem to need a little more TLC than usual.
