Those weren't little puppies either! Do you realize that's over 2 pounds of just the puppies themselves???!!! She's such a good little mama. I hope all contines to go well with her and her pups. You all deserve a much needed rest. Congratulations again!!!

I keep a heating pad turned on medium under the blankets in the wheliping box. I also put abit of cottage cheese in mom's food. I haven't had to give her any nutrical, but she had a small litter and didn't need it. I would keep a close eye on her after she whelps for any signs of eclampsia hun.

congratulations on the nice litter. that is a huge litter. Glad all went well. Now, just keep your eye on mama for eclampsia and make sure to supplement her calcuim.

Hi all,
Just woke up and all is still just fine. Hubby "babysat" (I really never understood that, when men wach the "children", why is it called babysitting??) Oh well, and Lexie is eating and drinking like a champ. She still will not get out of the pen though, so she has not been outside yet since we went to vet at 8AM this morning. I invite her, but she just looks up at me like she is saying, "...and leave my babies??" I will force the issue later, but right now it is her way!! WOW the puppies are bigger than I expected. We go back to the vet on Friday at 11 AM, I hope you all know that I cry at that visit, can't stand to hear my babies cry!!

Hi All,
Thanks to Karen, (she sized the baby pictures) we can share our beautiful babies with you. Everything is going so well. All the puppies are nursing and Lexie is being a wonderful Mom again. She has decided that the babies can be alone while she goes outside. The cutest moment today was when our Granddaughter who is 3 1/2 came to see "her" Lexie's puppies. She saw all of them and announced, "Oh Grandma, there is so many and they are all soooo cute" She climbed into the pen with Lex, layed down next to her and the puppies and put her thumb in her, Lexie putting her head down on her face. It made her mother so nervous, but I knew that Novalee would never hurt Lex or the puppies and Lexie trusts her so much it is unreal.

Since you have the litter of "Lucky Seven", I think you should name them all after lucky charms! Let's see, Wishbone, Clover, Bunny (rabbit's foot), Penny, Lady (Ladyluck)...
