| thats a shame my mom had a sheltie like that but we chalked it up to her being young, when she got pregnant. |

| Well that's a little understandable. But this dog is 2 years old. Not too young I don't think. |

Sometimes dogs of these breeds suffers very much when whelping . Often mothers will reject the pups after a bad experience .

| A friend of mine had to learn to tube feed all her baby pugs, because the mommy wouldn't feed them enough, etc. Vet told her it was because she had a c-section, her motherly instincts didn't kick in. He said it happens that way sometimes, though most are fine.

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | Babies on the way!!! Dont be scared then your baby will sense it! The circle of life is hard to understand and quite often hurts. Go in positive, dont let a bad experiance by one hinder your time of joy! Be cautious and you seem to be very educated and a great momma all you can due is arm yourself with knowledge and be prepared for what might get throw your way. Let nature takes it's course...I have a good feeling about you up coming babies...I think you will have the time of your life! Enjoy! My heart goes out to the passed babies....how is the remaining little one doing?

Thank you so much for the nice words and thoughts. There are actually 4 remaining & they are doing fine as long as the momma is held down to feed every 2 hrs.

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | I guess humans can be bad mommas so why cant a dog? I suppose it just happens...Did I read it right they spayed her? Maybe thats best as she obviously just doesnt get it. Poor girl had so much thrown at her....I wonder if dogs can get the post pardem blues like humans do? I know thats no joke...I had it a lil bit with my first baby...I didnt want to be left alone with her, but didnt want anyone else taking care of her either....It was the strangest thing Ive ever experianced. I couldnt sleep, eat nothing I just wanted to stare at her and make sure she was okay. Its a hard thing to admit to and only lasted 2-3 days....I wonder if momma pug will turn around and care for them??

| Yes, they did spay her. I had postpartum depression with my third child and you're right, it's no joke! It was like a black cloud over me. I cried for days, but I never felt like harming my baby. Just felt an odd feeling of very low. Melanie did say that Blossom is starting to stay with the puppies and feed them on her own this morning. Yea |

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | Thats great News! I am sure Melanie is going through a lot tell her my thoughts are with her...I am sure she is a giant stress ball. I have never looked up postpartum in Doggies but I would think they could experiance it too. Isnt it hard to even think back to when you had that? Its like I knew what I was feeling was wrong, and like you I didnt wanna hurt my lil girl, I just didnt wanna do anything for her, but didnt want anyone else to either...I wanted to put her in a bubble so noone could touch her! I freaked if people go to close to her. You know how everyone always stops by after you have the baby and wants to see the new lil one...I went out of my mind....I would go take a shower and try to use the time wisely but I would sit in the shower and cry and want her ion front of me and would imagine I heard her crying...it was the wierdest thing ever. Its a very hard thing to fee up to even 15 years later!! Well keep us posted as to how momma pug is doing!
