| Another question among many I love how this site works.. It is great and everyone is so helpful and informative... I really appreciate that.. Both my girls are in heat at the same time... Can I put them both with the stud male or should it be a one on one.. And if one on one how long should I leave them together in the kennel before I give the other girl to him? Thanks in advance! | I have used the same stud with one female 2 times on the 11 and 13 th days. Then wait 2 days and put him with the other female. If you have one proven female and male, I would breed them first so you can be reasonably sure you have a take. Doing it the other way, could waste a heat cycle. I personally don't like to use the same male more often than with one female wait at least a week and use him with the other..YorkieRose has more experience than I do with the spacing.. I would use both her males instead of repeating a breeding with the same male.. |

| breeding Some bitches will fight at this time so watch them. Put your stud with one and watch for a breeding. tie etc..you may need to hold your female, virgin bitches do not always stand still... and help the male if he needs it. Put her away and wait until the next day to breed the second girl..you can breed a healthy stud a number of days in a row..and if both girls get 2 good breedings that should work for you. Ideally I like a 4 to 5 days between bitches coming for stud service..but with one male you do not have any choice. Don't allow him to breed twice in one day. Let the sperm regenerate for the next bitch. I would do this with my own females, BUT not for anyone buying stud service. They deserve a rested stud with a high sperm count. |
