YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | I didn't see the whelping box pictures on that page. How high do the sides go up? Can the Mommy jump over the sides to get in?

| We just used this same box idea for our Molly and it worked great. We cut the door 2 to 3 inches off of the floor so Molly could get out but the pups couldn't until they were 2 or 3 weeks old. Are you going to put the puppy rods inside the tote too? We did that and it gave us peace of mind. The tote idea is great because it can be cleaned and stored, with your whelping supplies inside, very easily. |

| My husband builds me some bottomless whelping boxes and they are great. I lay a heating pad down then put a couple of sheets over that, then I position the whelping box so the heating pad is on one side. This works so great because you don't have to worry about the puppies getting tangled in the bedding. Before I started using this type of box I was always waking up to crying puppies that were tangled up in the bedding because the momma would dig in the bedding and cover them up. Sometimes I will put a small fleece blanket loose in the box. I have attached a picture of one of the whelping boxes. |
