Could someone explain why he shouldn't breed them in relation to what he's said? He has friends and family lined up waiting for these pups that he's giving them to. Not selling to. They will all be family pets that will be spayed and neutered. He will be spaying and neutering his after he's filled the list. I'm confused as to why people are still whipping the "beyond standard" pole. |
So start producing beacon . |

sorry thanks to my male im operating on about 15 minutes of sleep today and about 3 hours in the last 48 hours so im a little crabby to say the least. I will be waiting until the vet gives her the green light to breed with our boy. If i have to wait 3 seasons so be it. Ill just get the hang of it this time around and deal with it. I promise you i would not jepardize the health of either of these two i love them far too much. I Also take them to two vets at the moment to make sure they get the best possible care, so i will wait for a green light from both vets. However we took her into both vets at the begining of this heat and they said due to the amount of swelling and the frame she is expected to fill we shouldnt have a problem. However we are waiting to make sure. so yes we plan on waiting at least 18 months or longer. |
and honestly we are planning to breed her once if the vets deem it safe and see what happens if she is not well suited to breeding i guess we will be happy with the one or two we get. out of the 12 there is really only 2 ppl i would absolutely love to have their puppies so if thats all that she can handle is one or two we will only have one or two. |
Well one of madisons vets figured out how we could have a peacefull nights sleep. We gave him a small dosage of a mild sedative, and he was quiet all night, and extreamly happy. More or less he was his old self again until about 12 hours later, but ill take that anyday. I also slept at my parents house next store with him last night and gave him and her both a bath and washed anything overthere she came in contact with. I think the combination of the 2 did the trick. So i guess i wont be seeing my wife until our little girl is out of heat :( but cest la vie. |
put him in a fold down crate to keep them seperate but you should have him neutered he is too big to breed but can still make a wonderful pet yorkie |
ya ya ya 10k ppl can tell me to neuter and not breed him and im still going to ;) |

I did have to laugh when I read your first post...I remember when our stud Yogi was around when Dori went into heat, he wasn't quite as weird as the second time when we actually bred them. He lost his mind for 2 weeks, lol. We bred them on the advised days and the one day we weren't going to breed them (or that was my idea anyway), I left them at my office while daughter and I went to lunch. Yogi has a belly band on, Dori has a diaper on. I have a huge commercial glass door and we drive up, they are in a "tie" on display mind you and the belly band is in the corner of the room and he had chewed the diaper off of her, sorry, we had to have a laugh over this one...It was quite irresponsible of me, but I learned a valuable lesson. They cannot be left alone or even near each other while a heat in session or they WILL attempt to breed...but we have little Maggie and Bogus and couldn't be happier. Welcome to Yorkie Talk...tons of great information here if your brave..if not...wear a cup..;) |
totally unrelated to your post but I just had to say "hi" as I'm down in Rotterdam and grew up in saratoga county. It's not often I see someone on here from this area so I had to mention it! :) |
Thanks for all the support :) we have kept the two of them totally away from each other, i have removed her scent from the house where he is staying, and hes finally calmed down and back to being himself. I still have to leash walk him because he runs back to the other house where daisy is, but other than that hes over the howling. My wife and i haven't seen each other in a few days which sucks, but all in all were actually sleeping and the dogs seem happy. so life is better than the alternative... This has definitely been a learning experience for us. |
