| ![]() I have a girl that I have tried to breed last heat and she is currently in standing heat now. My problem is though the boys are willing and she stands for them they never really make entrance. I have had both checked by the vet. I thought maybe she had a stricture or something, but the vet says she's fine, that probably the boy's aim of not quite right to get up over the bone. I really want some puppies out of this girl. Any suggestions? He suggested trying some KY jelly and helping the boy to aim better. I will try this today, but don't know how much help he will allow me to give. Has anyone else experienced this? I wish I had an experienced male, but I don't. Any help would be appreciated. Please don't send posts about what tests should be done first and are they good breeding material, etc. I have already done all this. Thanks,

| ![]() When i had Missy mated, I brought her to a lady who shows and breeds. Missy was very reluctent, so she had me hold her. Her boy was very willing to to his job. lol. Anyways she used a bit of ky jelly to make it easier on Missy, and she assisted her boy helping him to make sure he entered her. They only had 1 mating and this was succsessful. Maybe if you cold get somone to help you you will have better luck. Good luck and please let me know what happens.

| ![]() i hope you meant the "boy" is willing not "boyS". you cannot have more than one dog mate with her ethically. if they are akc, they will (i believe) charge you a fee ($200??) due to the fact you had more than one male mate with her. just keep one male around her. you may have to have someone help you hold the bitch, and you hold the male and guide him. please keep her away from the other males.

| ![]() How old are the boys? Some males get it right away and some are slow learners and you just have to try to assist them and guide him in if he will let you. Sorry I am not much help, good luck with your girl!!

I have two boys, I only tried one last heat and only one (the other one) this heat. No I do not do two different boys on the same heat. Yes, I keep her away from the other male. Thanks.

YT 1000 Club Member | ![]() If you end up with one looking like him in say 2 years you will definitely have a home for him with me. Hubby set the 2 years as a time limit for me getting my next one.
