| Breeding ? Prego ? So what do you all think of this? Do you think my female is prego?? Ok, here it goes.....we have a 3.9 lb male over a year old that bred to our females. Now my question is this: on the latest female to come into heat he only bred her on her 5th and 6th day after she started bleeding. She was at a standing heat at that time and we did get a really good tie from them. I am sure of the day she came into heat because her "friend/sister" had came into heat a few weeks before and so I was watching like a hawk. Our 2nd female has had pups before, but was then bred on her 10th and 12th day at that time two years ago. After the two breedings he gave no interest at all to her. What do you think??? PS We do know he is mature enough - we had taken him into the vet for THE test! He really likes that vet now! LOL

| I breed mine on the 6 and 7 day from the first time i notice swelling she never really bled...she took. I have read the males sperm can stay active up to 5 days. But, dogs get preg at different times ...some coming into heat, some in the middle of cycle and some going out. Most say the 9th and 13th day. I knew mine took when she started to get a belly..her boobies is just now starting to show and she's due in 13 days. Good Luck To You ! Here is a site, you put in the date you bred and it will tell you all the stages and signs to look for.. http://www.debbiejensen.com/date.html Last edited by yorkiegirl2; 06-02-2005 at 07:59 PM. |

Wrene, there might be a big possibility your female is pregnant. Have you seen any changes on your female, like her belly and boobies showing? I guess the only way you will know for sure is taking her to the vet. Good luck. | |

| I thought I had read the female will not accept the male if it is the wrong time. When did you breed her? has it been a week or two? We could tell pretty quickly with Zoe, although I think they can have false pregnancies, too. Good luck. Stick around, lots of nice and knowledgable people here.
