| To xray or not.... I know that it is beneficial just to find out how many pups to expect so that afterwards there's no question as to whether she is finished or not. But is this bad for the pups? Vet wants to do it >56 days (Tuesday after next). I've had the stethoscope on her and I can make out three different fast little heart beats, one in the right horn down low...two in the left. But I realize that there could be more. Excitement is building. |

But, they have been known at times not to give the full picture. Sometimes showing 3 and oops there's a 4th....It does give you a good shot at their positions.

| It will give you a good idea, but like Mardelin said, there is always the possibility that one is hiding in there. It will also give you a heads up if the pups look too big to deliver and there is a high possibility that the bitch will need a c-sectioned. IMO, being able to plan with you vet a section ahead of time is better than having to take a dog in distress to an after hours office. Wishing you and your girl a healthy and safe delivery! |
