| is my dog to small i got a new yorkie puppy and she was born 11/28/06 so shes arround 14 weeks old but the breeder where i got her said that 2 weeks ago she only weighed 13/4 lbs and every where i go people keep telling me shes so small and everyone thinks shes younger then she is someone even told me she was still to young to be bought and i told her how old she was she was surprized. is she to small? |

I Love Thor Donating Member | First, welcome to YT. Do you know who these people are? What knowledge do they have about yorkied to make this assumption? Some (bad) breeders sell puppies too young and pass them off as older so they do not have to deal with them anymore. Maybe, she is just a small yorkie. I hope someone else can give you some advice on what to do. |

No Longer a Member | We get that all the time, and Chloe is over 4.5 lbs at nearly 6 months, so anything but one of the tiniest yorkies. The number one question I get is: "Is she gonna get any bigger?" And number two is: "Is she full-grown?" I think lots of people out there just aren't used to yorkies and how small they are in comparison to other dogs. They're thinking lab or golden retriever, so a yorkie seems unusually small to them. To me, a full-grown toy poodle or bichon looks =HUGE=! LOL |
