| Puppy Contract Hi, I'm a novice breeder and wondering what kind of health guarantee I should offer. I see some breeders give people 3 days, some longer to have their vet check them out. I guess I am not quite sure how to word it. Thanks in advance for any help. Martha |

| I had two days to check Remy out. With my kitten, I had a week. I've seen anywhere from 24 hours to much longer. Just depends on what you are comfortable with. |

| I had two days too and that just isnt long enough. I had to pay for an Emergency visit on both of My dogs to get them seen by a Vet in time

Depends on if they pick them up on the weekend or during the week. Weekend 4 days, weekdays 2 days. However, total health/ genetic guarantee should be a minimum of 1 year.

| Thanks for all your input, I agree 2 days is not enough. I also like the idea of at least one year for health guarantee. Martha |

| i give 48 hours for the well puppy check contract and if they pick the baby up on Friday, they have until the vet closes on Monday. I also give a one year health guarantee on genetic things because they are not going to check for those things at the well puppy check and also it takes longer for most genetic things to show up if they do. |

| I think 2 days is plenty, the buyer just has to plan ahead and schedule the vet appointment in advance. And I agree with at least 1 year on the genetic issues. |

| I always give 72 business hours. I mean it's only fair if there's a holiday or weekend. A lot of vets aren't open then and I sure wouldn't expect anyone to have to pay emergency vets for a well puppy check-up! That's just common courtesy!

| Mine is 10 days return for full refund just in case they have other pets who don't adjust to the newcomer or puppy care is not what they expected or whatever....I give a one year money back guarantee up to the purchase price on congenital issues to cover any vet expenses incurred. I don't believe in replacement pups as a guarantee, since no one will return a 8 month old who is part of the family for a new pup if it shows up with a problem...and breeders that offer a replacement know this....so it is the same as no guarantee at all. I also insist on a lifetime return if for any reason they cannot care for the pup/dog in future. These dogs are on the planet because of my actions, so I am responsible for their well being perpetually and will not add to the problem of rescue/shelters.

| Usually people know quite a few days in advance when they are going to get their puppy and should have already made a Vet. appointment. Are you going to have the pups bile acid tested? |
