Mine wears a belly band inside but I take it off and we go outside..........he pees. Inside, he wears his belly band..........you'd be surprised how well he knows how much he hates peeing on the pad and can't wait for me to take it off and go pee outside. I wouldn't trade anything (including the potential of him lifting his leg) about him. He is a momma's boy, a little pistol, and such a kisser.........priceless in my book  |
I have definately found it more difficult to sale males over females. :( I have a male now that is still with me as I have been unable to place him (not that I'm complaining about keeping him...geez, what torture that would be:rolleyes: ). On the other hand, I have had probably a dozen people at least ask for a female and offer to buy the female we have despite being told time and time again she is staying with us. |
My breeder said she always sold the females quicker than the males and she prices her females $300 higher |

Gotta put my 2 cents in:) A common misconception is girls make better pets then boys. Boys are generally sold for less, sometimes considerable less, because alot of people beleive that, girls make better pets. I think people are thinking of stud dogs who learn habits because they are used for breeding, that is all they think about!........(like a teenage boy!) But if neutered early or if they are not exposed to competition such as another stud and feel the need to mark their territory, they are as sweet or sweeter then a girl puppy. Absent of PMS:p |

I could never understand why some say males lift their leg and mark all over. I have never had a male lift their leg or mark in my home. Ever! I had a german shepard for 17yrs and terrier mix for 16yrs and now Buddy who will be 3 next week. All three were trained to go out. All three were neutered at 6mos. Could the problem be with unneutered pets? I find all my males to be loving and very protective. I did read an article before buying Buddy that stated: Male dogs are better pets for female owners, and female pets are better with male owners. I thought that was interesting. Carol & Buddy |
Chachi has never marked in the house either. He also alot smarter than My female yorkie. He responds well to commands and listens to me better than Jewels. When I go out My gate to leave sometimes he follows me and I just say Chachi go back in the yard and he does |

.......your male dogs dont have competition and you ae not a breeder. I babysat my inlaws male yorkie, who is generally well mannered, (wasnt neutered yet) He NEVER HIKES THERE, but here, he wanted to hike every minute! He was of age. He went home and didnt hike. He still isnt netuered at almost 10 months old, and he doesnt hike there. But if I brought him here.......he most definitely would. |
I think I might have said it before, I'm not sure. But here is goes (maybe again) Petey, I use for breeding (these are his puppies) he is 19 months old and he has NEVER lifted his leg, nor has he ever humped anything other then Bell ;) and he doesn't feel the need to spray anything... I use to have a male westie who was never neutered and he did lift his leg to pee, but never lifted it in the house. As far as girls being more expensive, YES, I'm selling my girls for $1000. and the boys for $750. I think that is more then a fair price for a male. So come on Ladies and gents.. Who wants to buy a lovable male yorkie??!!:p |
males From someone who has owned many of each sex..boys make the best companions..people tell me over and over once they got a boy, they were totally in love with them...with neutering and belly bands, boys can be very clean in the house. |
I Love Frankie, I Wanted A Girl But If She Has An Attitude Towards Clothes, Bows And Baths Like The Frankster Than Ill Stick With What Ive Got :d |
I was always under the impression that girls were easier to train and more loving....UNTIL....Reece came into my life!! He is soooooooooooo loyal and loves me more than the girls do!! He is a magnet to mommy and much more cuddly...I wouldnt trade him for a little girl...ever!! Dawn |
