Its a GOOD thing to ask questions...ask ask ask all the questions you want. Sometimes we dont always get the answers we want, but it dosent mean it will be the answer you were hoping for. I think you are being VERY responsible to wait and to educate yourself on this matter. Please dont feel like we are out to get you!! This is a great forum to learn from...you will form your own opinion and do what you think is right. There is a great SEARCH option here and you can go back and read previous posts about whelping if you would like. Some out comes are good and some arent. BUT please above all else DONT BE AFRAID TO QUESTION!!

I want my baby to experience the miracle of birth and I know there is always a risk. I will NOT deprive my baby of that feeling. I know there are risks and I will take them and take care of her.

As for the "cute" comment. I don't care if her babies come out deformed. I know dogs end up in pounds. That's why I always tell the people I give my lab's puppies away to, "If you cannot keep him/her, return them back to me and I will take care of them until I meet a person who needs/wants one."

I'm doing this for my baby not for me or because it is cute. Once again, I'm not spaying her so don't suggest it again.

Well you say you haven't made up your mind, so now you're back tracking but in your other posts, you seem to hve made up your mind. Then you say you're not doing it for cash yet in another post, you talk about making money from the pups. So which is it? I just don't think you should be breeding her and being so irresponsible with your lab. Trust me, dogs are not like humans, they don't have a biological clock or a yearning to be a mom. They just want to be spoiled, loved, protected and cared and to me, you're not doing any of those things. Sorry if you feel that's harsh but the truth can be hurtful. You can't say you would do anythng for your baby, then turn around and put her life at risk.

Medical insurance does not cover breeding incidents. It is also not a program that pays the vet. Rather you still pay and submit the claim to the company. If it is a covered service, they reimburse you...

Like I said before, the emergency vet that was closest to me (and very highly recommended) did not begin surgery on my dog until I had all the cash (over $2,000) upfront.

I would suggest you leave the breeding to the professionals...take the 3000$ you have saved and save yourself the time, money, and possible heartache and buy a companion for you pup. If someday in the future you decide to breed, then do your research and be a legitimate and safe breeder people want to buy pups from. Good luck:)

If your lab has had that many litters due to getting pregnant by dogs jumping the fence into your yard..... THEN "HELLO" A responsible pet owner would have the lab spayed, not only for her health but for the good of the lab breed.

RESPONSIBLE PET OWNER......you are NOT.:mad:

What does it mean if it says no longer a member? I thought that meant you asked for your membership cancelled but now I wonder if it means banned>?

I see this person is no longer a member, Im willing to bet shes reading this topic still.
I say (as cruel as this sounds) let her breed her girls and not spay them, shes going to do whatever she wants anyway.
Their uteruses become infected and then they will rupture and the dogs will die and let her live with this decision she made haunt her for the rest of her life. She thinks her unspayed lab will be safe now because they put up a bigger fence, a determined male will come along figure out how to get in and her lab will be pregnant again.
Yes shes a teenager and may not be educated on this subject, then it should be the responsibilty of her parents to research this and make a decision on this subject. Lets just hope they do make the right choice, but from the sounds of it they are not going to. Look at their lab who keeps getting pregnant. They claim to love these dogs but their actions are speaking alot louder then their words right now.

The sad thing is there's thousands out there just like her. :( That\'s why our shelters are full. :( :( :(

I feel sorry for any dogs with owners like that...people that act irresponsible claim to love their pets - but I just don\'t see it.

love means being responsible and keeping them out of harms way - didn\'t see that at all with this person.....but why waste time talking to a closed mind ? whoever she is... she\'ll do exactly what she wants ....you can tell by the attitude.
