| Hey, anyone know why they won't spay if the female is in heat, or even exhibiting signs of it? Just wondering. Izzy is scheduled for a week from tomorrow, but they said if they even suspect that she's in heat or close to it, they will have to reschedule the surgery. I don't even have the first clue what to look for?! Help!

| It makes it more of a risk and the healing time is longer. Im pretty sure thats what the said about my cat. |

| I googled it and all I could come up with was that it CAN be done, but there is an increased risk as excessive bleeding can occur. I thought it couldn't be done at all - but apparently it can, it's up to the vet whether they feel comfortable doing it.

| Thanks, why didn't I think of that Yeah, I would rather not add more risk to the surgery. Thanks I'm glad my vet refuses to do the procedure if they're in heat or nearly there .
