| What is normal weight gain? Can someone give me an idea of what normal weight gain is for expectant mommies? Katie is day 40 and has gained 14 oz. Is this normal? Too much? She acts like she is hungry all the time but I don't want her to gain too much and be unhealthy. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

| It all depends on the initial size of the bitch an d how many pups she's carrying. Try not to look too much at weight, look instead to the moms build. Are her ribs overly padded? Is she firm with pups or cushy with fat? Nutricion is important right now so lots of nutritious food and less treats. A little excercise and alot of love. She's going to be great. Enjoy this time, there's nothing like feeling those little ones moving inside her.
