| Have you ever heard of................. a female starting to come in heat an then going back out? Lacijo swelled but didn't bleed and then the swelling went back down quickly. The boys didn't even show any interest in her. Have you ever heard of such a thing? Sylvia |

| I have never heard of anything like this, but then again, I'm no expert. I will bump this thread up for you, though. |

| Sounds like a split heat. Should resume in 2-6 weeks. |

| Thanks for the bump. LOL Quote:
Susan, Will it start all over from the beginning or just a week or so before she's ready to breed? | |

| If it is a split heat, from what I understand ovulation is usually in the second half. I have one that bled the first half, no swelling. Then a few weeks later, swelling with very light bleeding, it was within the week that my stud gave his approval. |

| Thank you, Susan. I appreciate your knowing this more than I can say. I never had such troubles with my Cockers and I don't remember hearing my mother complain about this type of thing with the Poodles she raised when I was a teen. Nor do I remember her making any comparisons to the collies or dashounds she used to raise when I was little. |
