| yorkie heats My female yorkie is at the breeders right now. She came into heat on Thanksgiving day. Today will be the 10th day of her heat. I talked to the breeder and she said that she hasn't seen the two breed. She said that she believes that they have bred, and that Abby is probably sky and won't breed if someone is around. Has anyone ever heard of this? I am really hoping that I would get a visual that they have bred. I know that abby won't do anything if I am around as all she wants to do is be with me. That is why I left her at the breeders. She isn't going to charge me until puppies are whelped, so I feel confident in her.

| Just my 2 cents, but there should be no question about if they did or didn't tie. Anytime they are allowed contact with each other, they should be supervised, regardless of if Abby is shy or not. During a tie, the potential for injury to one or both of them is present. I.e., the first time our breeding pair tied, I was within feet of them...on purpose, obviously. When they tied, our female tried to take of, causing the male to begin screaming in pain. I had to this day, still have to physically hold her in place until they separate. It is also inmportant to know the dates of the ties so that you can estimate the due date and when the female sould be examined, have a sonar done, etc. Good luck! |

| Is that Abby in your avatar? She is very pretty from what I can tell. (And apparently I can't type OR spell tonight...I already took my sinus meds, please forgive me.) Last edited by BamaFan121s; 12-03-2006 at 08:49 PM. |

| Yes that is abby in the avatar. She is about 6 lbs. and has the most amazing red face. She looks like a copper penny. I have so many people complement her on her coloring as they have never seen a yorkie that red before. She also has an amazing personality to boot.
