| Is there lots of blood? Bright red? She could have an infection. Sometimes they will spot for a week or so afterwards but it's never bright red. Contact your vet no matter what. |

| I just spoke with my vet. She said it was completely normal to bleed a little up to several weeks after birth. Whhhhhhheeeeew! I am so relieved to hear that. Now I can rest easy tonight!

| Your vet is right. But if she just started bleeding when she hadn't been before, I'd take her in. Good luck! ps- keep a check on her temp, if she runs a fever she may have infection. Congrats on the pups btw! Last edited by ButterflyYorkie; 11-18-2006 at 08:54 PM. |

| be overly cautious!! Did you make sure she had no temp? That is a good inidication...first of all, and I would be concerned if it is bright red and heavy...normally by dark brown (NO GREEN) and getter lighter as time goes by. If this continues, go to the vet..dont assume....I lost my new Mom just last Saturday assuming she was okay after vomiting a few times after a c-section. good luck |
