Breeders..Please help! My female is bleeding.... and she just had puppies 11 days ago... READ HERE http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59007 Any help? |
Is there lots of blood? Bright red? She could have an infection. Sometimes they will spot for a week or so afterwards but it's never bright red. Contact your vet no matter what. |
I just spoke with my vet. She said it was completely normal to bleed a little up to several weeks after birth. Whhhhhhheeeeew! I am so relieved to hear that. Now I can rest easy tonight! |
Whew! Maybe you could get her checked out tomorrow or Monday anyway, just to be safe? Hugs to all of you, now get some rest;) |

Oh I'm so glad you got ahold of the vet. Give the poor little Momma a hug |
Your vet is right. But if she just started bleeding when she hadn't been before, I'd take her in. Good luck! ps- keep a check on her temp, if she runs a fever she may have infection. Congrats on the pups btw! |
wow heather keep me posted hun on how she is doing i was upset when i saw ur post hun... hope she is doing better hun and give her huggers from me and the crew at our house!!! |
be overly cautious!! Did you make sure she had no temp? That is a good inidication...first of all, and I would be concerned if it is bright red and heavy...normally by dark brown (NO GREEN) and getter lighter as time goes by. If this continues, go to the vet..dont assume....I lost my new Mom just last Saturday assuming she was okay after vomiting a few times after a c-section. good luck |
