| Seller Scam Artist? I have been looking for a puppy, and my friend found an ad about 2 rescued Yorkies and passed it on to me. This guy is in WV, He did email me pictures, very small pictures. He only wants $350.00 for this 12 week old rescue. He says she is 2 lb and the small picture is of a yorkie puppy with a small pumpkin.(suspicious?) He wanted me to send him payment through e-gold, I checked into it and it had no buyer protection for me. I emailed him back and told him I didn't know him and did not feel comfortable sending payment that way. This is what he emailed me back:IT IS AGAINST MY RELIGION TO DO EVEIL TO PEOPLE SO DONT TROUBLE YOURSELF,I DONT HAVE A PAYPAL ACCOUNT SO WHAT DO WE DO? He also had an ad with 2 rescued pugs for $350.00 also. I asked why so cheap, and he says he rescues dogs to find good homes and wants them affordable so they can go to good homes. I am usually pretty skeptical about online ads like these. The $350.00 includes shipping.....probley a scam...... |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | STAY AWAY ! If it sounds too good to be true it usually is - listen to your little voice and don't get tempted - there are thousands of scams just like that all over the net and MOST ALL USE RELIGION in them - that's how they hook you - When you see someone quoting bible verse or instantly claiming to be a good Christian - those are the ones to watch out for - sad but true. oh - western union offers NO protection as does that E-gold which sounds perfectly awful and geared to scammers - if someone won't take a credit card that you have protection with - don't do it. There are millions out there who've been scammed because they think Western Union or other exchanges offer them protection - they don't ...which is why these scammers use them - they get the cash and in MOST Cases -there never was a dog.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | ps....it cost almost that much to ship a dog - why would you think this is even legit when yorkie puppies sell from 500 and UP and the average is about 1500....that IS A SCAM - Even I could email you a puppy picture and claim to be selling dogs - doesn't mean I am. |

| ask him can you come see the dogs in person i'm sure his reply will help you make up your mind. most likely a scam and people who really rescue dogs don't sale them they just want to find them great homes that's what matters!!

| Just tell him that you have a friend that lives near to him , you will wire him the money and he will pick the puppy up for you. Ask for a telephone number to set the arrangements. Villettes right..if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. |

| It definitely sounds like a scam. I'm sure you just caught him off guard when he said it would be ok. What city is he in? Maybe someone here on YT can help you out and handle the shipping. Even if you had to pay them a little for their time and trouble it would be worth it. I'm still 99% sure it is a scam though. Have you run a reverse phone number search on the number? You can also run searches on his name and address. Check the address in local county tax records to see if he owns the house, its value, etc. How much did he say he would lower the price since you no longer needed the puppy shipped? |

| I would say it's a scam. In today's world you can't trust anyone, and sellers and buyers need to respect that. If your buying from someone you don't even know, you have to be aware of getting scammed, and the seller needs to respect that.

Yes, it is very sad that scammers use religion alot in their schemes. If someone professes religion in a for sale ad, email, website I instantly doubt the truthfulness of what they are saying. It usually starts with good christian ...or bible verses. Isnt that terrible? You just never know who you can believe. | |

| I was just wondering if I was being overly paranoid He hasn't emailed me back since yesterday so I am sure he has moved on... I just wish there was a way to stop this.....makes me so mad. And if there is a puppy involved what kind of shape is it in? I see a new cause coming on ...... Thanks for all the posts, my friend wants to fly out there and go get the dog....Can you imagine what I might find? Michele & Bailey |
