| Pregnant or not????? My yorkie Dakota is 2 years old and was mated with a wonderful male yorkie on the 25th and 26th of October, 2006. It has been a few weeks now and Dakota is not eating this week and she is throwing up a yellow clear bile today. I am aware that if she is pregnant that loss of appetite and nausea are signs. Has anyone had similar experiences with their yorkies or can you give some advice. Other than the two symptoms that I have mentioned, she sleeps quite alot which she always has done and she is not her regular self. When can I expect her to get back to her same healthy self, and what can I do to supplement her loss of nutrition. She refuses to eat anything even her most favourite treats. Thanks |

| My females never got sick like that. They would eat more too. I would make sure she has plenty of water though.

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Gracie will get "morning sickness" once or twice. With her last litter, she didn't start to show until she was about 5-6 weeks. Still, I didn't think she was preggers until she had about a week left. She had 3 pups. Either way, treat her as if she's pregnant...good food, more loving, etc. A vet will be able to do an x-ray in her last week of "pregnancy" to determine position and size of pups.

| I have had that experience, and she is likely pregnant. This is probably morning sickness, and will pass. However, you might need to be giving her Nutri-Cal, and try Yogurt, Chicken babyfood.. something that she will eat. Yellow bile means she has nothing in her stomach, and needs to eat or she might go down. You might even need to put some in a syringe (without needle, lol) and force soft food. Your Vet might also decide to give her a Vitamin B shot for appetite. She will probably get a huge appetite after this goes away. But you may have to spoil her just a bit to keep her eating. Just keep an eye on her and don't let her go down. Loss of appetite shouldn't last too long, but the lazyness and not the regular self may last the whole pregnacy. |
