Will You critique my puppy? Hello this is one of my puppies. Now I know he is cute, you couldnt tell me different He is 8 weeks old and weighs 1 1/2 lbs. Hes a solid lil guy and actually 1 1/2 lbs surprizes you when you pick him up because hes compact. Now I know you cant tell alot due to his age, and hes not standing either, but can you tell anything from is face? His ear set? Or muzzle? Or coloring on his face? Anything? I know there are show breeders on here that have a good eye. I on the other hand, dont have a good eye for the exact qualities. In theory I know what is supposed to be, but I have not developed those talents. Now remember I am asking for your opinion, so I am not going to get bend out of shape per your reply. I really would like your input. I always feel Im guessing. You can see dogs at dog shows but you didnt get to see them as puppies. And I dont have a good mentor. I am just very interested in improving my puppies and would like some honest opinions. Using this lil man for an example.

A very nice Yter private messaged me with some info on my puppy. They pretty much confirmed what I thought. Hes of pet quality. Ears a little too long, muzzle longer and narrower, and a shorty! Short legs and neck. He doesnt have show qualities, but he will make a wonderful stubby cute yorkie pet....LOL! Thanks messenger for taking the time to help me and I will use your resource suggestions.

Keep in mind that is is ONLY 8 weeks old. Lily looks nothing at all like she did at 8 weeks. NOTHING!!! He's a cutie for sure.

He IS adorable! I was very surprised to see the "ring around the snout"....like my Cowboy had when he was a baby. It did grow out though. Sometimes they "catch up" with their ears as they grow. Cowboy weighs just a tad over three pounds and is over a year old. I am not trying to take over your thread, just trying to help out with the difference between a pup and an adult in looks. I'll attach 2 pictures....one is of him yesterday. I'd LOVE to see pictures of your little guy as he grows! Also, I give you TONS of credit for posting this thread.

HI Julz, Yes they do change so much from a puppy to an adult. Your lil guy is precious......and definitely doesnt look at all as an adult as he did as a baby. Actually Im a breeder, and this little guy will be rehomed. Im trying to hone in on some skills I lack, such as knowing the right characteristics to look for in a young puppy. Im looking for a special pup for the future from my own breedings to see how they mature and possibly try to show one day...EEEEEEEKKKKKKK......... ......it will be quite some time before that happens. Anyway Im going to invest in learning tools, etc to help me. Its really hard to find a good mentor, plus my kids are so young right now. Thats the only way Im going to learn, sometimes hearing what I dont want to hear, or knowing something and just wanting someone to back me up, especially when Im just learning certain things. Thanks for the picture posts on your puppy. It would be great to see a champion yorkie as a lil pup and then as an adult. I think I can search around and find some too.
