| Yep I think I would have her checked. I have had a couple females have a dark discharge for up to a week and they were fine. But two weeks is a long time and she may have an infection that could make her very ill if not treated. |

| "Spot bleeding" is perfectly normal, I would be concerned if the blood is heavy or has an odor.

| Two weeks post whelping is too long in my opinion. If the blood is pus streaked or has a foul odor it could indicate a uterine infection like pyrometra or meteritis, both of which can affect the puppies. You might take her temperature, if it is elevated I would definitely take her in, but would probably take her in even if it wasn't just to be sure. Normal rectal temp is 101.5 degrees. |

| Please take her to your vet! My girl did this. For the first 2 weeks following her delivery, she had clear discharge. Then 2 weeks following the delivery, she started bleeding. I asked about it here as I thought it was way too early for a heat to come back. My girl has been thru 2 rounds of antibiotics, one that was okay for her to take while she was nursing and later when she kept bleeding and once she weaned the pups early on her own, another round that she couldn't take while nursing. Even still, now that the pups are 12 weeks old, she's still bleeding! My vet is now giving her injections of something that is causing all of her smooth muscle to contract (it's not oxytocin) in order for her body to expel whatever it is that is inside of her uterus. This not only causes her uterus to contract, but every single smooth muscle tissue in her body. She is at the vets office for this entire week because of these twice daily injections. She's extremely sick to her stomach and is having major diarrhea. They're watching her for signs of dehydration and anything else that alarms them while she's there. As I said, please spare her from what my girl's having to go thru! Take her to the vet immediately.
