| taking temps Does anyone use one of those in the ear thermometers for taking their dogs temps? I was going to buy one for my dogs but wasn't sure how well they worked or if they did at all. I've never taken their temps rectally. Thanks Tauni |

| they don't work at all. You need to get a glass rectal thermometer. If you REALLY are just not comfortable with the glass you could use a digital thermometer but glass is better. It's not hard just make sure you use vaseline and lube it up good...and twist it when you have it in to make sure you aren't taking the temp of the poo instead of her lol..You also want to make sure she is really calm..you don't want to break the thermometer while in her rectum..Once you do it the first time it won't bother you after that..u won't be thrilled at doing it but it won't bother you either...
