How to Euthanize If you are getting puppies in the middle of the night and have a deformed one that needs to be euthanized, how do you do it? In one book on breeding, it said to wrap them and put them in the freezer. this will cause them to die quickly. What are your thought on this, and if you are against it, how would you handle it? |
   Am I reading this correctly or am I just going insane??? Do reputable breeders REALLLLLLY do this? I'm sorry but this is abuse. :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown You should have the vet euthanize it the following morning in a HUMANE way. :thumbdown :thumbdown  |
I wouldn't do it. That's disgusting. |

  I do know someone who does this. It freaks me out to even think about it. I've never had to euthanize a newborn, but have lost newborns to their own natural death. I did wrap a baby that didn't make it in a cloth and placed in plastic bag in the freezor one nite at 2 am when it was impossible for us to bury the poor little thing at that hour. I would never place a live puppy in the freezor no matter what. I'd pay any extra amount of money I had to , to have my vet meet me at her clinic to do it in a humane way. The thought of the freezor thing just doesn't settle well with me. |
My stomach just turned upside down with that one. I hope I never hear of that again, Do people really do that? |
OMG, I know I will have nightmares tonight! |
I would take the little one to a vet clinic . I can't imagine someone placing a little one in the freezer to let him or her die    . |

Imagine how you feel outside when it is really cold, and you are freezing, there is NO way. That would still be a slow painful death. :thumbdown |
Allow me to just Quote:
scream- ARE YOU FREAKIN' NUTS?! You just made me sick! Thanks! |
you just read my mind on that one. I cant believe the coldness of some people . SICK!!!!!!! |
OMG cannot imagine it. A vet will put them down for you ,around here it only costs 20 dollars. We put our little one in the freezer AFTER he passed away for us to bury him this spring. You would be better off letting him die on his own then putting him in the freezer.Your vet should have no problem with this and if he does get another vet. There is nothing worse than having to put down an animal wether it is a dog cat horse etc, the most peaceful way to do this is to euthanize them they go peacefully and painlessly.I know alot of people who will shoot their animals in stead of putting them down and that is cruel also, most do not want to pay the fee. In my mind that is just not worth it I would rather spend the money and have it be peaceful. We have already spent money on them so what is another 20-50 dollars, for a peaceful death.Well worth it to me.I dont even think my vet would charge me for it these pups are not that big and it does not take alot to put down a tiny puppy. |
