| We have Puppies too!! Hi all..I am new to the forum, but have been reading for a while. We had our first litter on 3/6/06 and little Gia did an incredible job. We had two boys first and the third was a little female that came breech. I had to help with that one!! Unfortunately, she was born with severe cleft palate and after making sure she got lots of love from Mom and then us on the first day, we took her to the vet and had her "go to sleep". We certainly did not want her to starve to death. She is now buried here with our other "cat children" whom we have lost to old ages. The other two little boys are doing wonderful and very healthy. I know its going to be difficult when the time comes to let them go!! I used to raise and show Rotties, but these yorkies are so childlike, its left me breathless!! (I loved my Rotties too). |

| that is so sad, did the vet say that there was no way that the pup could eat? Just curious. I don't want to upset you, Just trying to educate myself.

| Congrats on your new babies!! And, I am sorry to hear about the little female BUT I am glad that you had the strength to do what was necessary to protect her from dying slowly. So often we try to feed them, love them and do everything we can think of to keep them alive and it is not the best thing for them. You did right by her. Give the boys smoochies from Rini's cuties |

| Congratulations on the healthy boys but we're so sad for the little girl. I suppose that is the most humane thing for her, I'm sure it was a difficult decision for you after pulling her safely at birth. I hope your boys and mama yorkie continue to do well.

| Thanks to all and as soon as I figure out how to add the pics ( I have a lot) I will add them on. It keeps telling me they are to large. It was a hard decision to make to put our little girl down, but the vet said it was just to severe. We spent the entire evening before making sure she knew she was loved in the short time she had. She received many kisses and sweet words....our little Gia (mommy) kept pushing her away. I think they always know when something is wrong. She did give her some loving though, but we helped make up for it. I don't fault her...its just instinct. She has been amazing with the boys. |
