My Yorkies are still the focus of my life, well, after my kids and grandkids, and they are why I am able to get out of bed some days. So, I cannot show (I can just see me crawling out of the ring and the stewards picking me up!) but I sure do love these younguns...
I know we all have differing levels of interest in what we do and that is what makes this such a great forum..we can all have input..

I don't have any Yorkies that would be worth contributing to the breed, although I love them dearly and one in particular is one hell of a working yorkie!!!

I feel that I breed so I can produce good sound quality pups because I LOVE this breed as well as all animals and I want to offer to the world a chance to enjoy what I love ...a pet to love.
I don't have to show to know what the standard is. I don't have to show to know how to care for an animal. I don't have to show to provide quality pups. What I do have to do..is learn..learn all i can about the breed..about breeding..about caring for an animal to keep it healthy..to care for it when its not..ect..ect..
And I too would be a living room breeder lol..

I don't know, I guess it is just the way you look at it. I have 6 people waiting for pups. I am comfortable with them having them...they'll be in good homes. I am not going to be disappointed if they go to loving homes rather than a ring. I do not feel the need to "prove" anything or "impress" others. I don't know. I enjoy shows, but I just have no desire to pursue that right now. Although Agility on the other hand...that's another story...

I just don't get it. That'd be like someone w/ a down syndrome child that is proud it has down syndrome because it's "their" child...and keep having children w/o ever getting that child tested BEFORE it's born (even thought they know those tests are available to them!). Why have dogs the same way? So what if it has a slight problem? It's so sweet and cute, certainly the pups he/she produces must be the same way! ?!?!?
How is that ethical in any way??
-Again, NOT every LRB fits this steriotype, but many do. And YEAH, you'll find people that own Yorkies from LRB that LOVE their dog and the experience they've had w/t he LRB, but most of those people don't know any better anyway and as long as it's cute many of those people don't care (because they don't know all the things they should about Yorkies).
