| How old is old enough to stud???? I have a 4.5 pound male yorkie and a 5.5 pound male yorkie. I was just wondering how old they needed to be before studding them out? Any info would be a blessing!

Donating YT 14K Club Member | AKC will not take litters that are sired by males under 8 months of age. Now, a breeder I know used her 8 month old male and the bitch did not take. Chances are, he was too young and the sperm had not matured yet. You should wait until they are close/at least a year. JMO

| age And...start at the beginning, a health test for problems, DNA recorded with AKC, rule, not optional. Brucellois test to show bitch owner and one from them. Pedigree and fair stud agreement for clients. Best of luck |

| I asked my vet that question once... she said that the sperm isn't mature enough until they are one year. They can sire before then with success... it all depends on the male and his sperm.... and if he gets the idea of what to do with the female. Best of luck to you.

| Thanks! Thank you for your info! I really appreciate your time. I am so new to all of this. I bred my female last year, she only had one pup and had to have an emergency c-section. It was quite an experience! Since them I got her fixed and am only dealing with my males. One of which is her pup and the other his half brother. Is there any other info I need to know about when doing the whole stud service??? I took my 3 to the groomer yesterday, and already received 2 phone calls requesting to see my males! I am so nervous! I want to feel prepared when speaking to these people. Any info will be great!!!!!!
