Mercedes x-ray we had our x-ray showed 3 pups perhaps a 4th. Said the pups heads look large and to be prepared for a c-section. Yikes I have never had to deal with a c-section. I am taking Mercedes to another vet tomorrow for a second opinion (my vet will be out of town from thursday until late sunday night and will not be available) This vet I am meeting with is about 45 mins away but comes highly recommended. Her 60th day is friday so I set up a plan "B" and I am thrilled I have. They're open saturday and sunday, staffed if a c-section is necessary and charge an additional $50.00 if she whelps afterhours. Ill let you know what he thinks tomorrow I am excited to meet him. |
How exciting! I'll pray for a safe delivery! |
Give Mercedes huge smoochies from Rini and the cuties. Y'all are gonna be fine but better to have and not need, than to need and not have. That translates to great idea to have plans A,B and C as a back-up. |
I will have Mercedes in my thoughts and prayers for her to have a safe delivery. It is great that you are very prepare and have a plan B if necessary. |
Im hoping all goes well. Im glad you have had her checked. |
good luck, keep us updated, and we'll be waiting for pics |
Congratulations, Kimberly! That's so exciting! Our YT Nursery will be ready!! We will keep little Mercedes in our prayers. Good luck!! ;) |
Awww, poor little sweetie! I'm pullin' for ya! |
I agree, good to have Plan A, B, and C if needed! Best of luck to Mercedes, Kimberly. Hopefully she will be able to whelp without the c-section, but I'm glad you are prepared! Good luck Mercedes....hugs from all your Aunties and Uncles. |
plan I wish you all the best..and remember, big heads can come through a smaller pelvis. Puppy heads are soft like human babies...since there are 3 or 4, you might be fine..one or 2 huge ones seem to cause the problems. When I had Claire's xray done my vet was out of town..the backup vet said there were 2 big heads and she would need a section. Claire whelped fine with no help..BUT I have had tiny pups NOT come out of big girls..go figure it out. |
What ever happens I wish you the best and pray for the wellbeing of mom and pups. |
Kimberly, I'll be praying for the best for you and Mercedes. Are you going to the vet in Tualatin? Ive heard there is an awesome one there. If it is let me know what you think of him. Good Luck!!! |

where is your modesty woman ? She's just beautiful with her belly of babies - I love how yorkiemoms just seem to love laying on their backs and the best of luck to you ! |
new vet well we met with the new vet, what a very nice knowledgable man. He thought there was no problem to natural whelp, heads are 3/4 in diameter and pelvis is almost an inch. I am to call him when either her temp drops, water breaks or any signs of beginning labor, he will stay home and awake (no matter the time) until I call him that either the whelp is over or that I am on my way. He said he only does spinal blocks finds its much easier on the moms and far less risk to her and the pups, has anyone had this done before?? Any experience with this would be helpful ... Oh BTW he thinks there is 4:) thanks |
GREAT NEWS!!! That's 1 inch pre-labor so those pelvic bones should spread even more! Glad to hear the good news! |
oh I love the pics of her belly! what a sweetie, I wish you nothing but healthy happy delivery and babies! |
