Let's see, Cookie started labor 1-16-06 11pm at night. 1 hour later no pups. Off to the E.R. vet. Vet suggests c-section, she is so distended and large. Six puppies one stillborn. Uterus ruptured. Must be spayed. Cookie in shock after surgery. Meanwhile bottle feeding 5 pups. 6am 1-17 Cookie sent home. 4pm 1-17 Cookie's not eating and pale. Off to the E.R. vet again. Cookie gets bloodwork,x-rays, and blood transfusion. 1-18 8am Cookie is transfered to Day vet. She remains there until 1-27. One of her problems was after the tranfusion her PCV was way to high. Very rare. Cookie had a re-check 1-30 PCV in the high normal range. Cookie is doing better. Pups are separeted due to sucking on each other but are doing okay. Oh and by the way the vet bills are $3500.00 and counting. People who want to breed can you handle it?

The lack of sleep, Stress, and Extreme Worry. But I'm Lucky, I did'nt loose Cookie. Because if I had, I'll have that guilt forever. Again people who want to breed your Yorkie, Can you handle that?

Thanks for posting this again! Hopefully people that didn't see it last time will see it now. I agree that it should be a sticky

bugaboosmom, thanks for sharing your story...I'm so sorry about what Cookie's going through. I know it must be so hard...Maybe someone will read your story too and realize breeding is not something that should be taken light-heartedly.
