I do not believe that your breeder gave you the approval to mate on first heat. I think you are saying that to create controversy. |
breeding father to daughter At one time this was a perfect breeding to do if all was well but today with livershunt being so bad in the yorkie breed I would never line breed any yorkie....if you breed please be sure to bile acid test the adults to be sure they do not have livershunt and also have the trachea and stifles checked as these things can also be passed on ......if breeders were more careful in their breeding practices then some of these health risk would not be happening.......I am not talking about any one breeder in particular but why bring sick puppies into this world......life is hard enough ........I must stress that bile acid testing the breeding stock will only tell you they do not have livershunt but it will not tell you if they are carriers.......in my opinion breed two yorkies unrelated and possibly you can avoid livershunt but not all thinks are in stone...........whelping yorkie puppies is a hard thing and not kowning what you are doing could cause you to lose your pups and your momma dog......but we all need to learn......please feel free to ask questions and if i can help at all I will greatly steer you in the right direction.... Hello, we welcome all breeders here at YorkieTalk, experienced or new. We are happy to see YT breeders share their knowledge and experiences. If you have personal experience breeding, we suggest you mention that in your posts in the breeder forum. This may give the original poster a better understanding of you and your experience with breeding. We strongly suggest all members ignore members that they may not get along with. All members should feel free to post their opinions on breeding or breeding topics, if you do not agree with it, you may reply or you may choose to ignore it. You may also add a member to your ignore list and thus will not see any of that member's posts. Arguing over and over about the same topic really won't help either party, it is highly unlikely that you will change the other person's opinons, and vice versa. Sharing your experiences is what YorkieTalk is all about, and we feel all members should feel they can discuss any issues without fear of being attacked. If you see a question that may be controversial or problematic, there are positive ways to respond and there are negative ways to respond. For example, if someone asks about breeding their 3 pound Yorkie, which is of course dangerous and not recommended, a positive response would be to mention how it is dangerous for the Yorkie and how ethical breeders only breed Yorkies over 5 pounds. A negative response would be to call the poster a name and tell them they are stupid for wanting to do so. If a person wants to breed their 3 pound Yorkie, unfortunately, there is no way for anyone on YT to stop them, however, we hope that by educating them as much as we can, that they will see why it isn't a good idea. Calling them a name will not dissuade them from breeding. No one should be afraid of posting questions or giving their opinion on YorkieTalk. Complaining about a particular member or a group of members is also unfair. As our community has grown, it simply is not possible for everyone to agree on each and every subject. We're here to learn and share about this wonderful breed. Many actual Yorkie LIVES have been saved as a result of the Breeder forum here, as well as many Yorkie babies. This is what our community is all about, please remember that. This forum is not about you or any problems you may have with another member, it's about Yorkies, the Yorkie moms and babies which may need your help. If members do not want access to the Breeder forum, we can prevent a YorkieTalk account from accessing this particular section. Just PM us and let us know. If you do NOT want to participate in this forum, that is your choice. However, rude, unhelpful, and negative posts will simply not be tolerated. There are those members that do wish to learn and share when it comes to breeding and wish to participate in this forum. Breeders have the option of putting their breeding experience in their signature, or when they post, they may discuss their personal experience with breeding. If they are a Donating Member, the breeder may put the link to their Web site in their signature as well. Again, as we said earlier, this forum is for all the Yorkie mothers and babies that may need help, it is not about YOU or your personal issues with another member. If you want to help, that's great! If not, then fine, do not participate, but making catty remarks, complaining about another member, or just complaining about this particular forum is NOT what this section is for. |
