| yorkies coat my female yorkie is 2 1/2 years old and her coat won't grow and it's rough. i want to breed her to a very nice coated male when she comes in heat. will her puppies come out with this same type of hair as she does? |

| sounds like she has a course coat. i wouldnt breed a course coat. but i'm also not one to judge or make anyone else's decisions for them. if you bred with a true silk you might get some of that, but you are going to have that course coat in that line from now on. i'm not an expert on genetics...so i hope someone else will elaborate here... all i can say is i have a girl who has a modified coat and her daddy was silk, her mom was cottony. it's not as easy to groom but not near as hard as a true cotton. it's actually a pretty coat. rambling here...ok, turning this over to someone else... |
