Oh it seems lots of people love the Yorkie breed and really here in California they are either very expensive or hard to find. You probably will have no problem homing them when the time comes. Just choose each family very carefully. Just Yorkie lovers only!

What does this mean? Two are totally blue? Hopefully not blue born?

You know, when we got Uni we totally did it wrong. This is no secret. We got her with the intention of breeding to make money, and overpaid for her to boot. OMG I know right? Well the day after we got Uni we went to look for a boy. We found this family nearby in the next city over. They had a litter of 7. To this day I had not heard of a yorkie litter bigger than that until this litter. The mom was about 9 lbs. The dad was 4 lbs. The dad was aggressive so we couldn't see the dad, just a peek, as he was locked in a bedroom. The pups were supposedly only 8 weeks old and already running up and down the stairs with ease. (Uni didn't do stairs until a few months later and she's barely under standard size at 6 lbs. with really long legs)

They were selling their boys for $1300 each, and said they put ads out to stud out the dad. They said the phone wouldn't stop ringing off the hook. And they said "We don't do this for the money, we do this bc we love the breed." :eek:

After doing research I am SO GLAD I got Uni spayed and never added more dogs into the pet population so that other dogs have to me put down bc of lack of GOOD homes.

Another thing you will see with bybs in it for the money: first come, first serve. No care as to if the family is a good fit for the dogs. Same as with who I bought Uni from, and the family mentioned above. Did not ask me anything, just as long as I had the cash.

Too tiny to read, but the screen cap I posted earlier was his response only about the blue ones.

I just hate that people use these poor dogs just to make a buck it's so unfair :(

The sad thing is they are going to keep on doing it. You see how fast those puppies are selling. More motivation for greedy people to keep breeding.

Yes I totally agree with you. I can understand ONE accidental litter maybe, perhaps a girl the vet said too dangerous to spay, for one reason or another, or an ethical breeder that betters the breed and spends tons of money to keep the pups until 12 weeks, etc, you have to charge something for the pups. The lower the amount, or worse free, the more likely someone will get the dogs for bait dogs, torture, etc. esp with NO screening of the potential buyers!

but to have a litter like this, and if we are correct in thinking they are going to breed again? Yes totally unfair to the dogs. And they are not standard, in size or coloring, they are not doing the breed any favors by continuing to breed.

That's for sure. If there are two actual blue borns they definitely shouldn't breed again.

He does not want to hear about keeping the pups until 12 weeks, says the vet and other breeders say 8 weeks is fine!

8 week is not ILLEGAL, that's why.
