Thanks so much for the update. I am so glad to hear that momma and babies are doing well. I know the extra pup was a nice surprise. Hopefully Rosie will make a speedy recovery. I have heard of females getting a prolapse uterus after delivering puppies but not before. It would be great if you could share some more information so that we all may learn. I know it was a scary experience for you. How big is Rosie and has she had litters prior to this litter?

| ![]() Rosie is 7lb and 6 yrs old. I believe it was day 57 that I noticed her liking herself and saw just a slight showing of round and pink. The next day she had the 2" protrusion the size of my thumb, round on the end, veins.I've had many pups through the years and considered she was starting to welp, but it was to early. Upon very close monitoring I knew this was not puppytime. I very gently pulled on the protrusion and wasn't going to be able to extract.I pushed it in easily and after several times pushed it in and to the side allowing it to stay in longer and through the weekend continued to do this often while I asked for help from you guys. (Saved my sanity) We got to my Vet (couldn't get to Corvallis Sunday). Part of her uterine wall was pushing out. Dr. Brown told me that actually my pushing this back in gave us a little more time for the puppies. He allowed me in surgery, (FACINATING) and I observed part of the procedure (pups yes), hysterectomy(I stepped back. Rosie didnt show any kind of distress or pain through this ordeal until after surgery. All is well with the exception of Rosie extracting her staples. Sutures still OK. I hope any part of my experience can help any who might come across this. Take Care. Laurie |

| ![]() I'm very happy you got a nice litter and your girl is OK. I know what you mean about being humbled. As soon as I start feeling a little like an expert some situation comes up I've never seen before. Best wishes ![]()

| ![]() Laurie, thank you for the information on your Rosie. Breeding dogs can be so unpredictable. You never know what might go wrong. I am glad everything turned out okay for Rosie. Is Rosie feeling better and taking good care of her babies?
