The use of the word "teacup" relative to Yorkies is controversial, especially here among Yorkie lovers. That is why your website is being discussed. Your website listing in search engines indicates "Tiny Teacup Yorkies for Sale."

I just wanted to clarify for others that Google did not write this for you. It is coded into your website.

I have no idea what your breeding practices are, but the words "tiny teacup" would make me look elsewhere if I wanted a pup. So, while you are attracting some traffic with those words, just know that you are shutting the door to other traffic from people who see it as a red flag.

Wow I stand corrected. I unlike some can admit when I make a mistake and don't expect anyone to take my word as the only gospel here.

Deidre I am so sorry your first exposure to YorkieTalk was an unpleasant one.

I am posting in the hope that either you or your sister read this; Maximo said that these tag things or what comes up on a search engine, is first encoded by your webmaster who designed your site. You should be able to get your websmaster to change those tags!!

I know if I ever set up my own website site I would want to know if someone encoded a word or a terminology that I do not want to be associated with!! Which is part of the reason I have not set one up.

Here in Yorkie Talk, Teacup Yorkies, Micro Minis, or any other term similar to this, is not something we associate with a good breeder. Even the YTCA in their code of ethics for breeders strictly discourages the use of these terms in advertising Yorkies.

I also thought another good point was brought up, and that is to separate your breeding dog pictures from your retired and or pet dogs or RIP dogs.
If that is too difficult to do, a picture caption that denotes their status might be good too.

I do know that if I set up a website for my Blackies I would invite many of the posters here to critique my site, as some are really knowledgeable about this internet/website thingey, and I would take their advice to heart.

I took me about 3 years to figure out what tags were on Yorkie Talk and how to use them, and just now to understand how tags on Google Search originate from. Go figure:D

In summary I thought there were some good suggestions made to improve your website.

For those that are querying about her show dogs and such, AKC has a search tool that will show every AKC registered dog wins titles and standings over time. So will www.infodogs.com. You should be able to search by kennel name as well.

Click on the puppy link and you will get the sire and dam pics along with their full health clearances and pedigree. They will also show you their Ch;s earned. ......

You can thank your sister for bringing your breeding business into this thread. Is that who you are planning on suing? Things like that can really break up a family. geez.... :(

Yes, the word TEACUP is very much discourage and never used as a selling tool.

I've seen web sites of very reputable breeders where a lot of space is devoted to explaining the evils of so-called teacup breeding. While such does educate people on the perils of breeding undersized dogs, it also assists search engines in directing traffic to them from people searcing for "teacup" Yorkies.
It just occurred to me one day that it was a clever way of getting the catchy verbiage into the web site without the negative connotations.:)

I think there was confusion because of the tags so we should just let this one go but the breeder also needs to be aware we wouldnt know anything about her had her sister not brought her up so I dont see where she could sue. It iks also very common for a breeder to bring up suing to try to get people to shut up and it has never worked this is a forum meant for opinions

I figured she must be suing her sister for throwing her under the bus. I can't believe this is actually still going. First, Dawn Arnold brings up her sister the breeder and give out her website info. We comment on the use of TEACUP YORKIES (forgot to mention it also says YorkiePoos on her tabs) then she calls her sister in who makes an account and is mad at us. If it were me and any one of my sisters they'd be getting an earful for dragging me into this mess. So now when you search Emerald Isle Yorkies this thread comes up in Google. LOL.....genius!:thumbup:

Yup! Great marketing on their part. Since Google searches keywords and those words are used repeatedly even if to speak the evils of teacups and tinies they get traffic to their website.
