| YT Addict | Mine is five weeks old tomorrow. He is coming from a local AKC breeder. I get to visit him every week (once) until he comes home. I was going to use Carter, but found her and she is within driving distance so I went with her. Mine is a boy too., How much does your weigh? You said he is twelve weeks old? So adorable, such a sweet face. ENJOY So glad Carter's worked out for you |

| He weighs 1.5lbs I thought when she said he was ready 6/12, it was 12 weeks. I never asked , so I made the mistake with all the excitement and found out he's close to 9 weeks I would have preferred to have him stay in the little a bit longer, and she actually said we could pick him up next weekend instead, but she was coming to Florida yesterday to Naples, we got to excited, told her to bring him down with her, and we would meet her 2-1/2 hours away off 75. The vet told us today not to freak out about him a little younger, and that it's common to have a puppy pulled after 8 weeks. I did allot of research and knew all the questions to ask, and never asked if June 12th was 12 weeks, we assumed it He is eating well, through out the day 6-8 times, and drinking well. We weren't prepared for a pup yet, so I had no way to crate him last night bringing him home 3am after having him in a travel crate, I ran to walmart and bought a gate to gate the bathroom off. We set our alarm clock every 3 hours to wake up and make sure he was ok, and let him out. Overall, my wife and I ended up last night with 3 hours sleep, checking on him all night Ordered a more suitable crate for him today, bought him puppy toys, a Excersize den, all kinds of stuff. Only hard part is when he whines, I jump up to run to him. The vet suggested let him whine, but he's so precious, I jump everytime he does it at night A few things I learned , Lisa was great with Carter Yorkies, the get said her health guarantee is something printed off the web, and not a typical health guarantee The vet also mentioned the shot she dated on the writen grantee |

| Was not signed by a licensed by a vet. So she's re-starting his shots over 6/23 to 6/30 She dewormed him today, he just popped, and it looked like long worms came out. She wanted a sample, so I'm brining it to her Monday of the stool |

| YT Addict | Yeah, I think that worms are typical that's why they do it like three times while administering shots. Ask about the Lepto and is it safe for yorkies. I have been reading up on the shots some say go the three way shot instead of the five way shot which leaves out the Lepto. She raises her dogs on a working farm so she may have administered the shots herself. It's no big deal starting over. Mine will be coming home in three weeks. He's around 10 oz now at five weeks - the small one. |

| Thanks, that's helpful info Yeh, she mentioned she raises them on a farm and she's been deworming him. But he may have them because of the surroundings he's been raised in The vet also thought she have the pup her shot, she said it's now uncommon I looked up the worm just now in his stool, and it's called round worm I know she said she's been giving him deworming, but at this point, I'm only counting on where we started today with the vet. I'm a little nervous about the round worms, but from what I'm reading online, their not uncommon The main thing is the vet said he's healthy, and we started him today on his way to his puppy shots. Because the papers by the breeder said his was given his first shot on 6/2 , which would have been a little over. 6 weeks, we had no proof. Because of his size, the vet would like to wait till 6/23 to 6/30 to not overload him with his shots. |

| Wow, do you have anything positive to say? Well, I didn;t wait till 12 weeks, and I'm sure a licesend vet after 8 years of school knows what she's talking about. The first shot was given 6/2, so she's giving it the shot 6/30 Our first yorkie who passed away 3 months ago, we did no of these things, we went to a store , bought him, and he lived healthy for 14+ years just passing, so you can't say anything about any specific dog. You can only go by statics I bought the dog, it's done now, let's enjoy it, and stop going back to What is recommended. I made a few mistakes, but I'm happy with dog, with the breeder, and happy to know it didn't come from a puppy mill this time |

| He is absolutely adorable. I know things came together quickly for you in the last couple days, but now that he is home just enjoy him. You must be filled with joy having this little guy around, after having lost your precious 14 year old Yorkie. I think you should start a new tread introducing your little guy in the General section now that you are no longer looking for a breeder. I would love to see more pictures of him, and what is his name? Hope you'll stick around and we will see this lil guy grow up on Yorkie Talk. As you can tell we are all passionate about Yorkies

| Thanks ! I just posted a video of " Chester " , he looks like a little chestnut, lol, with his markings I can't figure out how to post pics here. I belong to several forms, I have a 200 gallon alt water tank, scuba diving forms, boating forms, and never had this much issues with posting pics It keeps saying the size limit is 200kb Also yes, allot for the past several days. I took down a 60 gallon salt water tank, that I just started up last month, because I will not have the time needed for 2 salt water tanks, and a puppy. I would just be happy to get some sleep , lol Last edited by Fltekdiver; 06-15-2014 at 11:02 AM. |
