| Yorkie pups Our Yorkie is pregnant for her second time, she had 2 puppies on her first litter and was wondering how many they generally have on 2nd litter? She weighs around 6lbs, but appears to be bigger this time. Do they generally have more pups on 2nd litter? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I'll move this to the Breeder Section since you'll probably get more answers there. Welcome to YT, btw. What made you decide to breed your girl, btw? I'd be scared to death to be involved in breeding a beloved pet.

| We had her bred with a teacup, her first litter she did great.v one pup turned out to be a teacup, and the other is around 5lbs. We were nervous, but we took her to the vet prior to delivery and things turned out great. She is due in two weeks from now. |

| The terminology tea cup is truly used by breeders to get more money. Any yorkie pup under 7lbs is considered a yorkie in breed standards. A lot of reputable breeders will probably get mad as to the word tea cup was made up to get more $. Plus raising pups that size can come with a price. Smaller pups are not always the healthiest. I'm sure you did all your proper genetic testing. I would get a X-ray at around day 58-60 to count heads. Set money aside for incase of a emergency section. Sections can happen to anyone, even if the prior delivery was ok. Yes I've heard sometimes the more the dam is breed the more pups. Good luck and praying for a safe delivery.

| Thanks hope all goes as well as first litter. We will have her checked prior to delivery. Was always wondering where the name teacup came from, but the sire is very small. We plan on having her fixed after after this round of puppies. |
