| Is There A Breeder That Can Help Me Right Now? It is so early in the morning right now. I just hope that there is someone that can help me. I didn't want to wake anyone. However, I may make a phone call if things get too bad for my new girl. My Vet's office is closed. My little miracle girl keeps going outside her heating pad. I have checked it and it's not that warm. She wants to be over the blanket now. What do I do??? She's not crying and she doesn't want to eat.

| problem You need a very small box for her...I use a small cat litter pan..Rubber made type. Put the heating pad under the pad and a small towel inside..do not use alot of blankets. The entire bed should stay warm this way. If she is cold, do not feed her until her temp is normal..feeding a chilled pup will kill it. She is no doubt stressed..so try and keep everything calm..put a teddy in her bed to snuggle with..call the vet and have them show you how to tube feed..best wishes |

| Ahh...disregard my previous post. I am sorry to hear about your Maddie. How long has it been since the pup ate? Maybe if you are worried that she is too cold you could warm up a towel or blanket in the dryer? |

| I don't know much about breeding or raising pups but I do know that you must keep her warm. Maybe you can put her little blanket in the dryer to warm it up for her.

| Put her in a box like a cat litter box or sweater box. Place the heating pad only under 1/2 of the whelp box. you must keep the blankets from bunching up and smother her. What I do is take a bunch of layers of newspaper folded in half. Then I wrap a towel around the bunch of papers. This makes the towels impossible to roll up and also it keeps the heat somewhat even. The newspapers hold heat. The temp of the whelp box (inside) should be 95 to 100. If she is cold she will move onto the heating pad. If she's too hot she will move away. Do not feed a cold puppy as it will kill them. A normal happy puppy is quite only crys when it's hungery or needs potty. And they have a kind of restless sleep. They flinch while sleeping.....this is very normal activity. A sick puppy is crying and/or very very still while sleeping. do not coverup the puppy. Keep her bedding warm and the air around her warm. You can cover the WHOLE box to keep the drafts away. Give her a furry stuffed animal and/or a "rice sock" to cuddle with. |
