Tinkerbell is in labor!!!
 

Tinkerbell is in labor 12 days early and her water broke. My friend just called me and is a wreck. This early in delivering, there will probably be no live puppies once again. She hasn't had a pup yet but friend said there is a black discharge. Told friend sounds like a dead puppy but she's just going to stay up with her.

Please pray that this is over with quick.

Aw, the poor momma, I hope everything goes ok for her, and that her babies are ok.. keep us posted,, I said a prayer.

I can't imagine how devasting this must be for your friend. Maybe you should advise her to not breed her again. It sound like she gets heart broken often as her baby carries a pregnancy full term and it must be hard on the poor bitch herself. I hope everything turns out fine. :thumbup:

Oh this is so sad :( I had my fingers crossed for her too!

Oh yes...we\'ve already talked about it. She\'s going to get her spayed after this. It\'s her 3rd attempt.

I hope nothing happens to Tinkerbell, this must be hard on her body..I will be thinking of her tonight.

Oh, I feel so bad for her :( 12 days early......as you know not good. The black discharge does sound like a dead puppy :( My prayers are with her.

Just called her...she still has the black fluid coming out. Told her that Tink may have to have a c-section. She said she wants to wait for another 2 hours and if nothing happens, we\'ll call one of my vets.

oh man...that sucks so sorry to hear it...I fell sssooo bad for that poor lil mama

well, Tinkerbell has been pushing for 3 hours I just found out! She said she wants to give her another hour before she takes her in. I\'m going to pick her up and take them.

I am so sorry to hear that Tinkerbell is in labor.. :( I just had a bad feeling when I read your post that is why I asked about her temp.. I ALWAYS start to take the temps of my mamas two weeks before they are due to whelp.. I depend alot of what their temp is!

Please keep us updated on Tinkerbell and I will keep her in my prayers..

Oh, my this is so sad for the breeder and her Tinkerbell. Please keep us posted, but it doesn\'t sound good... I will keep them in my prayers that Tinkerbell is fine and comes out of this okay...

It amazes me what a caring group of people there are on YT- we all are worrying and pray for puppies and people we have never met.......

Just got back from the vets. Tinkerbell had an emergency c-section and spay. She had 6 puppies 2 of which were already dead. we brought home 4. 2 boys and 1 girl and I don\'t know the sex of the 4th. It\'s amazing what 12 days would do.

These puppies barely had any peach fuz on them. They were no longer than 3 inches long. Very underdeveloped. Once we got to her house, we spent the last hour stimulating them. They\'d gasp for air and then go 30 seconds with nothing. Gasp again then nothing. I told her that if one made it, it would be a miracle but then what kind of brain damage/health would the pup be in???

Tinkerbell has not come to yet. Right before I left, she had some eye movement and her nose was starting to twitch some. Dr. Barrett gave some antibiotics and pain killers for her.

Friend knows that the little ones can\'t be saved. Tinkerbell\'s normal weight is 6 1/2 lbs. Last time, she got down to under 5 lbs from grieving so much. Friend said that she went from room to room crying and looking for her babies. When the other dog had her puppy, Tinkerbell tried to steal her. Really sad. I told her that she may want to have a couple of small stuffed animals so she wouldn\'t grieve too bad. Don\'t know if it was good advice or not.

Anyway, friend is beating herself up over it and I told her she did the right thing by having her spayed so that it\'ll never happen again.

This is the part that breaks my heart the most and people don\'t think these animals feel anything:

Well, not sure...never had to have one done, but it was very late at night and he\'s just an old farmer type vet. they said to keep and eye on her and keep her warm. she didn\'t want to leave Tinkerbell there, either and no one was going to be there to watch her.

You are so right...these "dogs" grieve just the same as we do. They may not grieve as long but they know...and that\'s what is so heartbreaking! My friend was crying because she wants to keep at least one puppy. It\'s very sad.
