Please update us....how is Mila doing? Did you get her to a vet and get her xrayed so at the very least, you will know where you stand with size of babies? That xray will tell you what you must do next..... |
OP we do so want to help. No judgement here. Just a bone deep need to help you and your gal through a difficult time. Please let us know how we can help you two further. |

Well she did say she had to start work at 8am sharp this morning. But I just telling myself No news is good news................. |
Maybe and hopefully she is taking this opportunity to read up and research on whelping, the warning signs of and the proper after care for mamma and pups. OP be sure to have an Emergency vets member on hand. Plus get prepared for the after care of a litter of puppies. Washable Bedding, rugs, old towels, baby blankets. (check garage sales and second hand stores even Good Will) Lots and lots of news papers, Heating pad to places under the bedding for the first 3-4 weeks. You will need somewhere for mamma and puppies to be out of and away from the every day foot traffic in your home. Some sort of whelping box or area large enough for the pups to grow and play in until they are ready for their new homes. Please update on the situation with your gal !! |
See, I would have been calling in sick.......I have a poor work ethic, but a GREAT Yorkie ethic!!!! |
According to her page, she has been to this site since her last post, but she didn't bother replying to the thread. (Last Activity: Today 01:31 AM) I don't take that as a good sign. I don't think she is taking the advice to heart and getting xrays done, etc. If she had, she surely would have said something when she came back to YT. I am so afraid that she went to work today and that poor girl will go into labor and die with a large pup that she cannot deliver. After all of the great advice given, not once, in any of her replies, did she EVER say that she was going to follow ANY of the advice.:(:(:( |
:thumbup::thumbup: Agreed! If my employer couldn't understand a dog in trouble, they won't get much else about me. |

That is why I suggested letting the dog whelp at the vets, along with all the medical reasons for doing that. Next best thing is to find a toy breeder willing to take on the whelp. Not ideal for the lass, but better that, then be in in-experienced hands and with no knowledge of who bred her, or how many times she was bred, Oh Lordy, we might have preemies being born. THis really sucks on so many levels for this gal. The other thing I believe is that the previous should re-imburse her for all vet costs associated with this whelping, and puppy care. I am really starting to believe the APPA stats that 40% of pet owners get their pets from family/friends. I've been racking my brain to somehow guesstimate how far along she is. Just too many stumbling blocks (unknowns) to figure out from a hazy timeline.... |
I just had an idea. Won't she see emails sent to her on what we posted, so at least we know she has the info? |
