Here is my opinion as to why things get 'out of hand' at times. I see too many of us getting defensive and taking things personal when really we shouldn't. Think about this, if you breed tinies and you are comfortable doing it why get all 'hairy' state your reasons of why and move on. Even those of us that are against breeding tinies, we can state our reasons to educate and move on. This bantering(descriptive word) back and forth really ends up being defending our feeling and justifications. The original reasons and debates and opinions seem to get lost, and then the 'fists' come a flying. If we want to make our points know we can all the while keeping things civil and nonhurtful.

I do see hidden innuendos at times that don't help the situation and are rather childish (Here we go again, :rolleyes: stuff like that). I have been guilty of them too. Its' the environment we are in. My passions take over me many times. But I have to keep myself in check if I want to really make some important points even when someone says things that make my blood boil (breeding tines, or don't s/n, it's OK to breed Pets etc.).

So, in summary if we can just practice NOT to take things to personal levels and attacks, sometimes saying 'not to offend anyone' really helps. It helps me, when I take a post as a personal jab.

This is just what I've seen, and have tried to practice myself. I am short fused when it comes to YOrkies and ignorace especially in breeding...my tounge is shredded from bitting it all the time..lololol..but in the end I am glad I didn't say what I felt at the moment. It feels good to be in CONTROL!!

Sorry about the "hen house" statement I just wanted to lighten up everything. :) I really enjoy all the silly and fun posts. I know that there is some very serious topics about bad vets, bad breeders, bad neighbours, bad big dogs, bad groomers, etc. but sometimes it's nice to see the good in people and not always assume the worst because unfortunately that's what you see more often than not. Maybe I'm naive or just Canadian but I find that some people ask a question that they really want to know the answer to and people jump on them as if to say they are stupid for asking and why didn't you do your homework before getting into this elite group of Yorkie owners. I love my dogs and alway wanted a Yorkie. The three happiest days of my life was when I became a wife a mom and a Yorkie owner :aimeeyork :aimeeyork . All three have great joy and alot of responsiblity that goes with it you plan what you can and the rest you learn as you go.

P.S. My husband is not very good at taking care of Yorkie's either :p

I think of the folks at YorkieTalk as an extended family. As in my family, I truly love some members, "like" some members better than others, and some members I just don't care for at all. Period. However, it is vital to a "family" to agree to disagree, and to make wise choices. I choose not to answer, or even read, certain threads that I know will make my blood boil. Just because I have the RIGHT to respond in a a certain way doesn't make it right.

Unfortunately, we are human, NOT YORKIES, and when we make a mistake or chew on the wrong person, it isn't cute or funny.

I read most of the posts on this thread, and like usual, I am clueless about what the problem is -- and I am determined to STAY clueless..... it is a much kinder world not knowing.

What a nice post! I agree with what you said - lots of things said here that are absolutely unneccessary and come across at "flaming" people.

I believe in "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!" The world would be such a better place to live in.
