Hello everyone I have a quick question, I ran out of ultrasound gel, can I use KY Jelly instead? I am going to order some UG but I would like to check my Nina tomorrow with the fetal doppler.. anyone has use the Ky instead of the UG, and if you have did it work ?

I haven't tried it, but googled it and it stated: you can use "any water based body lotion." You aren't suppose to use oil based products though. KY jelly will do fine.

LOL, i know, i had to re read her comment.. ok, I do have plenty of KY, when you breed you need LOTs of it.. LOL on a serious note, I found a medical supply in the next town, so tomorrow i am going to pick a gallon of UG.. LOL

My grandmother used to breed toy poodles...and she had something equivalent to KY jelly. I was really young and was walking around her house with it one Christmas day with a bunch of family and my mom DIED. Of course had I been older I would have been the one who would have died... LOL!

I have used KY instead of the US gel, but I find the KY is a thinner consistancy and seems to get watery faster with heat, so I prefer the US gel, but you have to use what you have available and it does accomplish the same end result.
