the only thing about this food is that the first ingredient is CORN and I don't feed my dogs any grains, i use grain free Natures variety or Blue Buffalo.

All my pregnant ladies go on that (PRO HT-42D) and it is available here in the States. I did not do a formal study on it, but breeder friends of mine that initially told me about it, have done compairson studies within their facilities, and they said their litters are larger and healthier using it. I can say my litters used to average 3-4/litter, and they now run 4-5/litter....babies birth weights used to weigh around 1.8oz- 2 oz....now they are closer to 2.2 oz-3 oz....I free feed this, she can have as much to eat as she wants. I have mine on the worming protocol she talked about too...and I pre-medicate my breeding bitches with NeoPar, 1 week before they are bred...then the babies are re-vaccinated with NeoPar at 4 weeks of age. I was not familiar with mixing the Starter Mousse in water like a chocolate shake to get mom to drink water after whelping, but will be doing that with my next litter....I just bred my Hungarian female Karina, and will be expecting babies around Dec.15.

Thanks so much for your response. And congrats on your next litter! I think I need to email the vet. My problem is I home cook. I don't use kibble other than as a bit of"filler" if you will for my adult dogs. And I am concerned with switching a female over from a home cooked meal to kibble during this time. My experience has been, once I get a "new puppy" who has been raised on kibble into my home, it usually takes about 3 wks before they turn up their nose on "their kibble" that the breeder fed, as everyone else in home is getting that lovely homecooked meal!. My last two pups - Zoey lasted about 5wks eating the breeder recommended kibble, Razzle that brat of Yorkie last 3wks, before I was forced to start adding a teeny dollop of homecooked to his meal. By wk 5 he picked out only the homecooked and left his kibble!! And of course he needed his calories. I tried lifting up his dish with the kibble left in it .. feeding the next meal as only kibble....nope nnot eating this Moms!, till finally I gave in and he got switched to mainly homefed with a few kibble pieces in the food.

I do like to feed my puppies kibble as I know for most homes they will be going to a home that feeds kibble.

Let me check that out for you. The attendees got a link to re-hear the seminar and to download the PDF file from the seminar. Nothing was said about a CD for others who may not have been able to attend.
