Info on breeder? Anyone have experience with a breeder from Canada, Thundering hills yorkies? She has beautiful babydoll yorkies! Thinking of buying an 8 month old little girl from her! |
I have never heard of them...They are all the way in BC! There are many good breeders right here in Ontario...I can recommend at least two for you...pm me for more info. Where in Ontario are you, I'm in Whitby. |
If you want to know about any Breeder ask for references. A good Breeder will be more than happy to give you all the references you ask for. I would ask for current references and a couple from maybe 2 yrs back. It is always a safe bet to check out any Breeder you are going to purchase a fur baby from.. Good Luck! :) |
References can always be fake..... |
True enough, you would have to check and recheck. |
Yes references can be fake, but hopefully when you ask for something like that they will not want to put the time in to give you 20 references or however many.. I checked on and talked to quite a few breeders before I finally found one I trusted and bought from.. I liked her so much 2 yrs later I bought another fur baby from her.. Good luck in your search!:) |
I love her yorkies too, so sweet! When I enquired a few months ago she said her pups start at $2500 and go up, which I thought was quite expensive. However, I find most breeders in Canada to be quite expensive. She had no puppies at the time but said she had a 6 month old she was willing to sell me but said he was from Korea so had no paper work right now. I didn't like the idea of purchasing one from Korea but I definately would love one of her new pups that were just recently born. Her yorkies are all beautful! |

I don't think she is a broker because she breeds them in her home. She has beautiful dogs and owns both parents with full details on each. I think the Korean boy pup was maybe one she had purchased as a future sire? Not too sure as I didn't ask. He was 5 months old and wanted $2500 with possible paper work to follow, she was waiting for them so wasn't sure they would come. It was too much for me and I didn't feel comfortable getting one from Korea. He sure was a cutie though! Here is her website, check it out and tell me what you think www.thunderinghillqhyorkies.com I did contact Lorraine but she only had a boy and I preferred a little girl plus her next litter wasn't due till September and I wanted a puppy to train during the summer before I want back to my teaching job in the fall. She was very helpful and her dogs are beautiful as well and yes only $1500 which is very reasonable! I ended up getting my Pippa down in the states but if/when I decide to get another I will definately contact her. While researching breeders in BC and Alberta the ones I came across were asking $1500 and up with girls being on the high side. I really wanted a girl so I was looking at $2000-3000 not sure why girls are more if you are not going to breed? I found in the states they are more like Lorraine's price range of $1500 regardless of sex. I'm sure there are lots of breeders that I missed but that was my experience.:) |

I'm very curious about the price difference too. I can see if you are paying for breeding rights but I think all of the breeders I contacted have a mandatory spaying contract so you wouldn't be able to breed the pup even if you wanted to. |
