| Mating question My dog is a male and is 9 years old. We never had him neutered because he usually doesnt have contact with other dogs. I love my yorkie so much and I would love nothing more than to see him have puppies. He is a bit older in years but very young at heart. He still gets "excited" if you catch my drift. It would be nice to have his puppies around. Id love to keep 2 or maybe even 3. Is he too old to mate with a younger dog? Of course I would go to a professional and in no way try to mate this dog with another dog myself. Thank you in advance. |

| I would try putting this in the breeder section. Just cause a dog can mate does not mean the should. A puppy that is 1/2 your guy will not be your guy. Cozy is my mama yorkie- Happily spayed now. Roxy, RIP Zoey, and Lucy are her daughters. None of them are Cozy. Cozy may have raised them but each one is very different. Zoey was a quiet cuddler. Roxy is a firecracker. Lucy is a cry baby- Youngest- if she doesn't get her way she cries. Cozy is not like any of them- She is an independent cuddler who protects and rulers the furrbutts.

| To answer your question...he is too old. When a male or female gets older, your run the risk of severe birth defects in the puppies. Don't do it please!

| Look for a pup like him...or 2 or 3. Even better go to a rescue and fibd him some buddies closer to his age. They'd appriciate it and ge just might as well.
