I'm assuming you are talking about the Canadian Kennel Club, since you’re from Canada, there is also another registry called the Continental Kennel Club in the states. Both the Canadian club and the AKC do unannounced routine inspections. I still urge people to visit the homes for themselves to make sure breeding dogs are kept in a way you feel is humane. The AKC just makes sure that the kennel conditions meet state law, they are really more interested in record keeping and making sure that the dogs are purebred.

Somewhere on the AKC site it still says 4-7lbs because Gracielove has pointed it out to me however its not a standard its their guidelines for showing

This page has the written standard. Yorkshire Terrier Page While other pages may discuss common size, that is not the same as the written standard. For example this page: Yorkshire Terrier Page describes the Yorkie for people interested in buying one. It says,

I see AKC has done quite a revamp of their whole website since I was there just about a week ago. They used to state just above the breed standard 4 to 7lbs. On this page that I found it is in an area called "Right Breed for You?" just above the standard.

She is doing totally irresponsible breeding. Disregarding every sort of professional and responsible breeding practices. This is another money making side line for her. Breeding for the "fashionable" but genetically inferior tiny breed dogs is only a money grabbing business. Although tiny dogs are very much in demand the public is uninformed about the health and safety issues that go with them. Tragic consequences result. Another careless as well as heartless breeder. If she had taken the time to learn about the genetics of breeding any purebred dog she would know that what she is doing is deadly and totally unfair to the unsuspecting buyer as well as the poor puppies that may survive her delinquent breeding practices.

I just looked at some of the pics. I saw a pic of a puppy in a big white bed. I thought was only a few weeks old. They said it was 13 wks at 14 oz OMG! Bless its little heart. It looked so sad. I could not believe this pup was that old. I could not imagine having a puppy that small. And the the puppy will be less then 2 lbs when it is an adult. I can not believe the ethics of that breeder. Why would . . .what I am not even going to finish that question. . .GREEED!!!!. . . .

There is a chain puppy boutique in a near by city called THE PUPPY PATCH. Supposedly these people are "groomers" that sell small breed designer dogs as part of their business. They have a website that shows pictures of the current inmates. Very sad. Maybe they think it will increase their "grooming" business. Since anyone can call them selves a groomer I suspect their main income is from the puppies they broker.

13 weeks old and 14 oz. ??? Wow! That's very tiny. My Rosie just had a litter (they are 6 weeks old tomorrow) and I have a small one that is 15 oz. She is very small. The rest are over a pound. BUT 13 weeks and 14 oz? Praying it's not sickly.
